Spring may almost be over, but warm weather just arrived here in the PNW, and today I wanted to share a few items my son and I have been loving. There are clothes and accessories for both and a few toys for him (that I’ve secretly been loving too)
- Linen Shorts

Linen shorts are the perfect warm weather staple. They look great, they feel great and they are super versatile. I love hat you can easily dress them up (with a button down shirt or a cardigan) or dress them down for a casual everyday look (with a graphic tee, or animal print top like in this photo). I bought mine from Gap last year, and have worn them so many times.
- Bucket Hat

I may not be the biggest fan of bucket hats for myself, but I love them for my son, because they offer more sun protection. This one from Little Trouble is the cutest one I have ever seen. The checkered pattern speaks to my elder emo soul, and the smiley faces (or ‘happy’ as my son calls them) makes it perfect for a child. Another great feature is that it is reversible! So on days where we want something a bit simpler, we also have that option.
- Chuck Taylor All Star Lift Double Stack

Don’t be intimidated by the platform, these are the most comfortable shoes I own! They’re also the pair I’ve worn the most (almost every day) since I got them last month. I hadn’t owned a pair of Converse since my mid twenties but I am glad I finally got one again. It’s making my little emo heart happy, because it was indeed never a phase.
- Bubble Machine

I don’t know a single child (or adult) that doesn’t love bubbles (and if there was an adult that didn’t I wouldn’t trust them). But blowing bubbles again and again for your kiddo is…a lot. This was actually the first backyard toy I bought my son, and he’s been obsessed with it ever since. There are times I even need to turn it off for a little bit because he goes a little too crazy chasing those bubbles, and since balance isn’t amazing in toddlers, I’m trying to prevent falls and injuries. You don’t need a Bluey machine of course, but a lot of alternatives were shapes like weapons, which I hate, or cheap(er) looking ones. I had actually tried a different one I had to return because it didn’t work. This one has an option to play the music theme from the show on loop (yay) but I never use that.
- Skorts

Skorts are very popular and there’s a good reason, they are maybe the best invention ever (okay maybe not ever). If you love the look of a short skirt, but need the comfort of shorts and don’t want to risk flashing everyone, they are perfect. Whether you’re a mom or not, I think you could use a pair, as they’re so easy to style. These ones are technically athleisure (they’re also on clearance so hurry up) so they are very stretchy and confortable, this material is also incredibly soft which is a huge bonus.
- Water Table

Another big hit in our backyard that is being used every time we hang out there is this water table. I had first noticed it a few weeks back, but since the weather wasn’t great yet I waited, and I’m so glad I did because I bought it on sale during Memorial Day weekend. I like the colors on it, it makes it cute for my kiddo but isn’t ugly in my backyard. So far he mostly uses it as a source of water to help me water the plants, but as long as he’s having fun, it’s all that matters to me.
- SPF

Sunscreen has become such a staple for me on a daily basis. I love these two for different reasons. The Vacation Classic Whip Glow is my go to for the body because it’s fun to apply, it has the classic and nostalgic sunscreen scent I love and it leaves my skin all glowy (hence the name). I don’t notice a white cast on me, but I have pale skin. The Kopari Sunglaze Sheer Setting Mist is perfect to reapply sunscreen, during the day, over my makeup. It doesn’t irritate my mildly sensitive skin, doesn’t disrupt my (very light) makeup and looks very nice on the skin.
Now that I’ve shared a few of my current favorites with you (don’t worry I’ll do that often) I would love to know what yours are! Let me know in the comments what you are swearing by currently, no matter the category.
